Toecutter75 it reminds me of progressive rock from the late 70s especially a lot like genesis and yes. Very talented musicians especially from a two piece lineup. Smart to scratch the movie scores and go with real tangible music. Heck of a good album great drumming excellent bass work and kick ass keyboards. You haven't heard it you need to Favorite track: Total Breakthrough.

Logen Ninefingers Zombi members are renowned for their soundtrack work, especially in the Horror genre. 'Shape Shift' is another to add to their canon of heavy nightmarish sounds. Droning analogue synth collides with clinical, almost detached percussion (like a bell tolling on final track 'Siberia II'), the ominous foreboding sounds throughout the nine macabre tracks take influences from the likes of John Carpenter, Tangerine Dream and 70's horror Prog like Goblin. Captivatingly intense and creepy. Favorite track: Siberia II.
The Goon

The Goon I sat on the fence about this album since it came out. Finally made the right decision. Not my favorite, but I think it has a fuller sound than past albums and has grown on me quickly.

about

After the lengthy break that followed the band’s beloved last album 'Escape Velocity', 2015 sees ZOMBI ready to reclaim their rightful role as space-rock overlords with their sixth full-length 'Shape Shift'. The album was self-produced by the band and recorded at Machine Age Studios in Pittsburgh, PA and Steve Moore’s private studio in central New York. Darker, heavier and more dynamic than their more recent works, Shape Shift sees the duo in "live band" mode, a fitting return to their roots after their successful North American tour with the legendary Goblin in 2013 and a triumphant headlining appearance at the prestigious Roadburn Festival in April, 2015. Whether you’re an adventurous listener or die-hard fan, delving into the latest chapter of ZOMBI’s expansive and ever-progressive oeuvre will never disappoint.

about

Zombi Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Producing work that is epic in concept, sound, and artistic approach, the masterminds and multi-instrumentalists behind Zombi have re-imagined the architecture of progressive rock and dynamic instrumentals by carving a niche in underground music distinctly their own. The band's signature sound is deceptively lush considering its two man skeleton crew ensemble. ... more
